Our incredible team at Shindico Realty Inc was recognized at the annual Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA) luncheon last week, winning four Awards of Excellence.

	The Resident Manager of the Year award went to Chris Gacek. Chris has been with Shindico for over 13 years. He started his career in 2011 with Shindico at Gannon Apartments, 7 Roslyn Rd, a 30-unit building where he strived to make the building and the neighbourhood a better place.   In 2018, he was then promoted to a larger modern 42-suite apartment building located at 100 Donwood. This year he accepted the resident building manger position at Taylor Claire, one of Winnipeg’s newest purpose-built apartments with 124 state-of-the-art units and tons of common area space and first-class amenities. Chris is devoted to Shindico and to the care of our tenants. It is an honour to see someone so deserving, recognized for all his efforts that he invests in his job every day.
	Stefan Kostic, on-site building manager at Tiffany Towers, received the Long-Term Service Award. Stefan is a dedicated and remarkable building manager. He looks after Tiffany Towers as if it were his own home. He is a huge asset to our company and is so deserving of this award and recognition. Stefan has been with Shindico for 25 years. He is directly responsible for all repairs, maintenance, renovations, leasing, liaison with tenants, and ensures the building is safe and kept to the highest standards. Stefan’s customer service skills are exemplary, and his personality is contagious.  He genuinely cares for our tenants and goes above and beyond. He is someone who can always be relied on to deal with any issues promptly and is trustworthy.
	Sandra Sumner received the Principal Member of Year award. Sandra’s time and dedication during her tenure as President at the PPMA has been outstanding.  She has set the foundation for the Association to thrive and revitalized the association with new initiatives and procedures to ensure the continued improvement and success of the PPMA.  Sandra’s ease of engagement with all members has been amazing to watch. Her dedication to leading the association has been exemplary as she engaged with all committees and has led by example with attendance and Shindico’s support at all PPMA events. Sandra brings happiness and joy to everything she does for the PPMA, and she is truly deserving of this recognition.
	Receiving the Advertising Award was Mohamed Mekkawy. Mohamed joined Shindico in 2022 and quickly became an invaluable member of the Shindico Team. Mohamed’s talent for photography and videography has resulted in Shindico being able to produce outstanding videos including numerous property and construction updates. Mohamed has also taken a keen interest in 3D renderings and drone photography and was instrumental in providing realistic renderings of recent projects at 1341 Henderson Highway and Grant Park Festival. Mohamed is also responsible for posting content on all of Shindico’s social media pages and has helped grow the company’s social presence tremendously. 2023 was a very busy year at Shindico, with the founding of SNR Construction Ltd., a general contracting division in the Shindico Group of Companies, the acquisition and integration of Akman Management and busy Brokerage department. The Shindico portfolio grew by 360,000 square feet and Shindico agents and brokers negotiated 1.74 million square feet of building sales and leases.

All the growth in 2023 resulted in a 42% increase in staff at the Shindico Group of companies, with several new employees added along with many of our long-term employees assuming elevated roles and responsibilities.
