With construction well underway at The Plaza at Polo Park and the new Target opening in October, we are pleased to advise that the first payment on the debt owing to the Province on the Investors Group Field has been made from realty taxes paid to the City on the Plaza land.
Over $860,000 in realty taxes have been paid on the land and $444,000 of that amount applied to the Community Revitalization Levy for the Stadium loan repayment while $424,600 was for the city. The taxes apply to the period April 2013 to December 2014. These amounts will increase significantly as the new buildings are completed.
The Plaza at Polo Park development is a 350,000 sq. ft. mixed-use development centered in the heart of Winnipeg’s Shopping District. Located on the former Stadium Lands north of the Polo Park Shopping Centre, future development plans include Retail, Restaurant and Office.
