Director, Creative
Shindico, an industry leader with nearly 50 years of operations in real estate development and investment management in Canada, is seeking a qualified Director, Creative for our team. This challenging position, focused on content creation and visual media production, is a key role within our Marketing Department. They will assist the team in the implementation of all marketing activities in pursuit of the company’s business objectives to increase brand awareness, promote services and generate new business leads.
Director, Creative
The Director, Creative is detail oriented with strong creative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills and is an excellent communicator, both verbal and written. They will possess a strong understanding of all aspects of marketing (digital and print marketing, social media, advertising, internal communications, and public relations) and serve as an integrated point person who can support cross-team opportunities and collaborations.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Content Creation:
- Assist in the development of print-quality promotional materials including advertisements, brochures, and signage
- Create high-quality, engaging visual content (such as graphics and video) for social media, email marketing, and website copy to enhance audience engagement and brand presence
- Bring your own creative vision while staying open to collaboration and feedback
- Collaborate with the leadership and team members to produce new content ideas and strategies that align with Shindico’s brand
- Ensure consistency in writing style, fonts, images, tone and overall brand in all Shindico content
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging marketing technologies, and best practices in content marketing
- Participate in market research and competitor analysis to identify content opportunities
Visual Media Production:
- Capture and curate engaging photo and video content to showcase properties, company culture, and activities
- Shoot and edit high-quality short-form content (Reels, YouTube Shorts) for social media
- Use Drone to shoot aerial photo and video content of properties
- Edit, colour grade, and finalize content for a polished and professional finish
- Optimize videos for various social platforms (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, etc.)
- Ensure every shoot is organized, and efficient, and delivers high-value content
- Maintain efficient turnaround times without compromising quality
- Assist in the recording and delivery of Matterport 3D virtual tours
Social Media:
- Manage and grow the company’s social media presence across multiple platforms
- Develop and manage the social media publication calendar
- Keep up with social media trends and industry best practices to create content that performs
- Analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to inform future strategies
Other Marketing Activities:
- Plan and execute email campaigns and oversee their entire cycle including creative development, pre-deployment testing, quality control and back-end analysis
- Write persuasive, captivating copy for various communication materials, ensuring grammatical accuracy
- Oversee corporate templates to enhance brand cohesion and ease of use
- Support the maintenance and updating of the company website
- Prepare reports and presentations as required
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A strong portfolio of graphic design and written content showcasing creativity and a comprehensive understanding of design and communication principles.
- Experience designing and producing publications/graphics for various formats (digital, print, web)
- A collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building abilities across departments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with media production, videography, and photography, along with an understanding of lighting techniques and visual composition
- Experience flying a drone
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Programs, particularly Premiere and After Effects
- In-depth knowledge of social media trends and how to create content that performs
- Familiarity with social media management platforms, such as Metricool, Sprout Social, etc.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (i.e. Mailchimp or Salesforce Marketing Cloud), including managing and segmenting audiences and creating and scheduling targeted emails
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with WordPress and CRM platforms a strong asset
- Ability to coordinate projects, adjust priorities and handle multiple tasks in a high paced environment
- Above-average attention to detail is required
- A self-starter attitude with excellent initiative and time management skills
- Experience in the real estate industry is considered an asset
