Our incredible team at Shindico Realty Inc was recognized at the annual Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA) luncheon last week, winning four Awards of Excellence.

Sandra Sumner received the Principal Member of the Year award. Sandra’s time and dedication to the PPMA Board and the Association have been outstanding. She has served on numerous committees and progressed through the Board to her current role as Past President.
Sandra consistently shares her extensive knowledge and experience with fellow members, offering valuable insights and guidance that strengthen the association. She actively promotes professionalism by championing ethical practices and high standards within the property management industry.
Sandra has also played a key role in recruiting new members, contributing significantly to the association’s growth. In addition, she is a regular at monthly membership meetings and participates enthusiastically in association events. Sandra’s dedication and commitment have greatly benefited both the PPMA and the property management industry.
The Winston, located in River Heights, received the Historical Building of the Year. Constructed in 1913 and designed by noted Winnipeg architect A.B. Scarlett, the historic Winston Apartments are a representative example of the early apartment buildings that emerged during Winnipeg’s pre-First World War growth.
For more than a century, the property has remained a residential apartment building and continues to contribute to the historic character of the Crescentwood streetscape. Shindico has prioritized preservation of the building’s original architectural features, exterior materials, and overall heritage appearance, ensuring that its early-20th-century design remains intact while allowing the property to function successfully as a modern residential community. The building has been thoughtfully renovated to blend its historic charm with modern conveniences.
Bob Peters received the Long-Term Service Award. Throughout his distinguished career, Bob has exemplified the highest standards of professional property management across multiple asset classes, including retail, office, and industrial properties. His comprehensive expertise encompasses not only day-to-day management operations but also strategic leasing, project oversight, and the critical transition phases that determine a property's long-term success.
Bob's longevity in the field reflects his unwavering commitment to the property management profession and his ability to adapt and excel through evolving market conditions and industry challenges. His leadership and professional approach have made him an invaluable asset to our organization and a respected figure in the property management community.
Receiving the Advertising Award was the Shindico Marketing Team, in recognition of our comprehensive, year-long 50th Anniversary campaign.
The 50th Anniversary campaign successfully utilized a diverse mix of traditional and digital media to celebrate a half-century of real estate excellence in Winnipeg while reinforcing our brand’s future-focused vision.
It not only celebrated 50 years of Shindico but also strengthened our market presence and deepened our connections within the Winnipeg real estate industry.
