Bringing great amenities to North Main Street

Rivergrove, a bustling community north of Chief Peguis Trail on Main Street in Northeast Winnipeg, needed a strong neighborhood shopping centre with national tenants. When Sobeys opened, it was ahead of its time. Since then, thousands of residents have moved into new homes and condos around it.

Knowing the area was especially underserved on the food front, Shindico jumped at the opportunity to develop a strip anchored by Dollarama at the corner of Main Street and Murray Avenue. The property is now fully leased, and below is an overview of the tenants in the mall:

Serving as the anchor, Dollarama was the first tenant in the shopping centre. The store opened in 2014 and has enjoyed serving the neighborhood since then.

The drive-thru store at Main & Murray is the first Starbucks north of Chief Peguis Trail. Opening on September 8, 2016, Starbucks was the mall’s second tenant. Being on the AM side of the street is key for Starbucks, and Main & Murray fit this criteria.

Hakim Optical

On September 12, 2016, Hakim Optical became the third tenant to open for business. Hakim had been looking for a location in Rivergrove for a number of years, but couldn’t find a site that offered the appropriate exposure. Main & Murray offered them the ideal location.

Pita Pit

A local franchisee saw value in the area, and Pita Pit opened for business on March 15, 2017. Since then, they have embraced the local community and made a strong marketing push. Pita Pit has 9 locations in Winnipeg, and Main & Murray is the first one in a Shindico development!

Za Pizza Bistro

Offering tasty custom fast fired pizza, Za has been a hit since they opened a few years ago. They currently have 4 locations in the city, and Main & Murray will be the 5th. Construction is well underway with its opening announcement coming soon!

These 5 tenants are a great addition to Rivergrove, and will be enjoyed by the residents for years to come!
